Below you will find some fun links to online sites that teach art through technology. Twentieth century technology is ever changing and can play a vital role within any classroom. It's essential as educators to stay on top of trends and find new, exciting, interesting ways to integrate art with emerging technological applications into the classroom. Below, two sites (Flame Painter and Graffiti Playdo) are featured that were used for my "Street Art" Lesson and a mini-lesson entitled "Flame Painter." Picasso Head is a website that allows students to make works of art like Pablo Picasso. Here students will be able to create their own portraits just like Picasso while incorporating web 2.0 technologies. Recommended for elementary grades.

Flame Painter is a website that allows to create beautiful and sometimes elaborate works of art using a variety of different tools and procedures. Recommended for grades 9-12.
Graffiti Playdo: http://graffiti.playdo.com/
Graffiti Playdo allows users to create their own unique pieces of street art in a safe and legal way on a "virtual wall" with a "virtual can of spray paint." Create works of art like British street artist Banksy and make your own statement on the web. Recommended for grades 8-12.

You Are Your Words is a website that uses your own text to create a self-portrait using a variety of colors and fonts. Simply upload your photo, then your written text, and choose a color to create a unique work of art. Could be used in conjunction with the English department at your school to create a collaboration between art and writing assignments crossing the curriculum. Recommended for grades 5-12.

Paint like famous artist Jackson Pollack using "virtual" techniques and practices of splattering and dripping paint onto your "virtual canvas." Simply drag your mouse around to begin and then click to change colors. Recommended for grades K-5.
